penndragon asked:

Sorry for calling y'all obnoxious, but if you're shit-talking one game and telling people others exist without giving them suggestions, all you're doing is shit-talking. Yeah, 5e has problems, but how do you expect people to find better games if nobody tells them which ones are worth it - there's like 500 tabletop games out there.

sirobvious answered:

If I just made blanket suggestions, I don’t think that would be that much different from how people just warp and strangle D&D5e into every genre and preference. Because there’s so many TTRPGs out there–more like 500,000+–you really can’t give a good suggestion until you know what exactly somebody wants, but what you can tell them with about a 90% rate of accuracy is that whatever they want can be done better by some other game that isn’t D&D5e. (and for cheaper and with easier-to-learn rules)

I prefer messaging people in the notes of my 5e hate posts privately or in the reblogs and asking them what they want when they express dissatisfaction with 5e but don’t know what else to play, rather than saying “no, 5e isn’t the game for every one and every thing, [this game] is the game for every one and every thing”, because that just isn’t true either.

But all that will change when I release my new rpg, an actual definitive system designed to be flexible enough to do anything players and GMs want to do but lightweight enough that it's fast to pick up and learn! Your can support my Kickstarter at this link, we still have 20 days to go-
